Hi Mark! Please sum up your role in one sentence To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers that use our services.

Tell us about your journey to ARL… My journey in safety begun many moons ago working in the NHS, covering staff and patient safety, and there are a few stories to tell for the less squeamish. Before jumping ship to the private sector working within the facility management world, covering across many sectors include defence, who I thought owned the book on acronyms until I moved to the rail Industry!

What do you enjoy about working at ARL? The challenge, the people and making a difference but also learning what is a truly fascinating industry.

In your career so far, what are you most proud of? I have been lucky in that I have had quite a few moments for example being part of the project team for one of the largest hospital moves in Europe and being part of a team to improve safety for surgeons when using diathermy. More recently influences the industry on improving Contractor management.

Tell us about your most memorable railway trip… The Caledonian sleeper, from London to Aberdeen even though I should have got off earlier!

If you could book a ticket to any destination, where would you go? Across Alaska for the vastness and scenery.
