This month we introduce you to Rima Mistry!
Name: Rima Mistry
Job title: Regional Support Assistant
Location: Camden Road Station
Hi Rima! Please sum up your role in one sentence
As the regional support assistant for the north, I will be helping Rachel Geral and the team achieve their goals whilst ensuring everyone is correctly equipped and organised.
Tell us about your journey to ARL…
I have a diverse background having held both part-time and full-time positions across various industries, including hospitality, retail, makeup, social media, recruitment, banking, motor trade, private medical care, and facilities management. My experience spans across customer service, sales, account and relationship management, administration, and compliance. As I type this, I’m on day two at Arriva Rail London, and this is my first role in this industry. I’m confident my passion for organisation, spreadsheets, and modernisation will drive me to achieve many goals here.
What do you enjoy about working at ARL?
My role consists of various tasks that I enjoy (both in my professional and personal life), and every day is always different. I love that almost everyone I have met here enjoys their job and wants to be here. The morale is great! I’m only on day two, but there are many things I have seen that I would love to pick up and improve – I will make these my little projects.
So far, what are you most proud of in your career?
I have worked in various industries in various roles because this has pushed me towards a career I enjoy, and I now feel very settled.
Tell us about your most memorable railway trip…
I frequently travel by train between London and the Midlands (that’s where most of my friends and all of my family are) – the best experience I had was being allowed to be seated in first class and able to sit on my laptop and work on my wedding spreadsheet in peace!
Where would you go if you could book a ticket to any destination?
I love to travel and intend to travel a lot more in the near future. If I could book a ticket to anywhere in the world, it would be Thailand. I have never been, and I love East Asian cuisine (I am a massive foodie!).
