Tell us about your journey to ARL…
I started my railway journey quite a few years ago, beginning on London Underground as a “Platelayer”, since then I have worked for most of the well-known rail companies involved with renewals and maintenance. I moved into Project Management in the early 2000s and have been part of some large and minor projects, covering Track, Civils, and SISS.
What do you look forward to most working at ARL?
I look forward to making a difference and getting things done.
In your career so far, what are you most proud of?
Working more than 30,000 staff hours on Crossrail without a single injury.
Tell us about your most memorable railway trip…
As the assistant section engineer at Victoria for Amec, I remember delivering my first on-track renewal and doing a pre-work cab ride and then a post-work cab ride. The difference in ride quality was amazing.
If you could book a ticket to any destination, where would you go?
The Artic.
