CELEBERATING SUCCESS - REFLECTIONS ON THE FIRST EVER EASTER SERVICE TO LONDON BRIDGE
You may have heard murmurs around depots, stations or Palestra about our plans to run several London Overground services into London Bridge.
On Easter Sunday, ARL did just that, and Exchange Extra sat down with Peter Jackson, business change project manager, to reflect on its success.
"Since November 2023, we've been diligently working on the London Bridge special Easter serviceāa project of significant complexity that has necessitated collaboration across various departments within ARL, as well as engagement with key stakeholders such as Network Rail, TfL, RfL, GTR, and Alstom."
"The test train operation was conducted on 25 February. This critical phase allowed us to perform essential safety and operational assessments, laying the groundwork for the first London Overground passenger service to London Bridge.
"The response to our first service on Easter Sunday was overwhelmingly positive, particularly from our customers. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and exemplary performance of individuals across ARL, including our station teams, drivers, operations colleagues, safety personnel, and many others.
Celebrating this milestone reminds us of what we can achieve with strong collaboration across many areas of the ARL business.
