CELEBRATING THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS!
Last month, we kicked off a fantastic competition to celebrate Diwali at ARL, bringing together our stations in a festive display of creativity and community spirit. The competition invited employees to decorate their stations in honour of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, which took place from Thursday, 31 October, to Friday, 1 November. This occasion, widely celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains around the world, provided a wonderful opportunity for us all to reflect on the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
To add more fun to the festivities, since Diwali coincided with Halloween on Thursday, 31 October, we added a Halloween-themed station competition to the mix. Both competitions were judged collaboratively, with enthusiasm from all participants who embraced the festive spirit.
The creativity and effort put into the decorations were truly impressive. From on-theme balloons, to sparkling lights and festive colours, each station captured the essence of celebration.
After much deliberation, the winners of the competition were announced: Hatch End and Surrey Quays, where the teams’ stunning decorations earned them well-deserved recognition. Both teams received luxury Fortnum & Mason food hampers as a thank-you for their exceptional efforts.
A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this Diwali and Halloween celebration so special. Your enthusiasm and festive spirit truly brightened the stations, and we look forward to more moments like this that bring us together as a community!
