LINE NAMING: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Why are we naming the lines?
The London Overground has expanded considerably since TfL started to take over services in 2007. The network spans six distinct routes, which can make it confusing for customers to navigate the network and understand the impacts of disruption.
It can also be difficult for colleagues to provide clear and easy-to-follow guidance to customers.
The new London Overground line names and identifies aims to make the network easier for all to navigate
How the six routes will be named and identified following launch
From ‘Go Live‘, the six new line names and colours will be represented on maps, signs, including platform line diagrams, as parallel lines with a white gap in between. This is a known signifier of a rail service, and exists across TfL rail modes, including the Elizabeth line and DLR plus National Rail services. Underground lines continue to use solid line colours.
