MILDMAY LINE ENHANCEMENTS
Vital work is underway on the Mildmay line, which runs between Stratford and Richmond/Clapham Junction.
Recent developments focus on enhancing the line's reliability and safety with the help of Network Rail.
The major works include replacing 675 metres of worn track near Stratford, which has been heavily used by freight trains over the years. Installing new rails, sleepers, and ballast will help prevent potential faults and minimise disruption to passenger services. Additionally, 20-wheel timbers on a bridge over Chalk Farm Road near Camden Road station are being replaced with more durable materials that should last up to 50 years.
While these works occur, ARL continues supporting Network Rail by monitoring the Mildmay line's performance. Our dedicated team is focused on keeping the line running smoothly and addressing defects before they affect service. We're also replacing older assets that aren't as reliable as they should be to ensure a more dependable journey for passengers.
During the closures, we’re working hard to minimise the impact on passengers, with shuttle services running between Richmond and Gospel Oak, and Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction. This is all part of our commitment to providing the best possible service for the thousands who rely on the Mildmay line every day.
