NEW ACCESSIBLE TOILETS AT SEVEN SISTERS AND WHITE HART LANE
As part of TfL’s London-wide initiative to improve accessibility and reduce barriers to travel, two of our stations, Seven Sisters and White Hart Lane, now have brand new, accessible toilet facilities, thanks to a joint project delivered with TfL.
At Seven Sisters, the installation replaces outdated facilities that were difficult to use and positioned dangerously close to the platform edge, narrowing it to just 1.5 metres in places. The redesigned layout not only provides an accessible WC but also a revamp of two standard-sized cubicles, including a WC for our station colleagues. This development also removes a known blind spot, improving safety and visibility on the platform. Colleagues have already shared how the wider space makes a difference, especially during busy periods when the entire length of the platform is in use.
Meanwhile, White Hart Lane now has a long-requested, permanent accessible toilet, a major improvement for a station that sees a sharp rise in matchday footfall. The transformation repurposed an unused room into a modern facility that’s easier to clean and maintain, with a cleaners’ cupboard built into the design.
These upgrades also bring meaningful improvements for our station teams. Both station facilities include dedicated cleaners’ cabinets and butler-style sinks, designed to make cleaning easier, more efficient and more sustainable.
Importantly, both locations have been developed with input from station and facilities teams, whose feedback shaped the final designs. Their support during construction and their enthusiasm post-launch played a huge role in delivering these upgrades.
A huge thank you to everyone involved, from our project and facilities teams to the station staff at Seven Sisters and White Hart Lane, who all helped bring these important improvements to life.
These improvements contribute directly to TfL’s goal of ensuring that no customer is ever more than 20 minutes from an accessible toilet on the network, and they reflect our shared commitment to making the railway safer, more inclusive, and more comfortable for everyone.
