OVERGROUND TEAM LIGHTS UP WORLD OF WORKDAY AT LOCAL SCHOOL

Zameer Patel and Dorota Olczyk, customer hosts at Wapping. recently enjoyed participating in a fantastic World of Workday at a local school. The event, which welcomed children from year one to year six, was a whirlwind of curiosity, learning, and fun, making a memorable impact on the students and Zameer and Dorota.

Our colleagues were delighted to see the young students bursting with questions about the world of work. Engaging conversations unfolded about the different roles within London Overground and the new distinctive lines recently introduced. The children’s enthusiasm was palpable as they picked up their own tube maps and travel wallets to keep their zip and Oyster cards safe.

Reflecting on the experience, Zameer Patel, customer host, said, “It was a joy to see the children engaging with the information about staying safe while travelling. We offered tips and advice, particularly to the Year 6 students who will soon be transitioning to secondary school, where they may have to travel further distances. It was a valuable experience for all involved, and we look forward to partaking in more engaging events like this in the future.”

Dorota Olczyk, customer host, added, "Seeing the kids' faces light up when they learned about how the Overground works was incredibly rewarding. Their curiosity and enthusiasm reminded us why we love what we do. It was great to be part of their learning journey and to inspire them to think about their future careers."

The World of Workday sparked a sense of pride and accomplishment among the students but also reinforced the Zameer and Dorota’s commitment to community engagement and education. Here’s to more days of fun, learning, and making a positive impact together!
