PRIDE 2023 - PRIDE IN LONDON AND CELEBRATIONS AT OUR STATIONS
On Saturday 1 July, ARL colleagues, Liam Nixon, Dean Wallace, Robyn Ashley and Toni-Anne Davis had the privilege of marching in the Pride in London parade.
This year was my 2nd pride in London event with TfL and as always is a day I will always remember. It was a day full of energy and was great to speak with fellow workers from across the TfL Network. We continue to step in the correct direction around the LGBTQ+ community at Arriva Rail London and will continue to work with TfL OUTbound team and Arriva Group in making as much success as we possibly can for the community and the workers at ARL. – Liam Nixon, customer host.
This is my 21st year of celebrating pride and seeing how much it has grown over the years is pretty amazing. - Dean Wallace, customer host
Although I’ve been a regular attendee at Brighton Pride, I’ve never actually been to the Pride right on my doorstop – and what a way to experience my first Pride London! The crowd seemed to instantly recognise the wrapped diversity bus and at many points were chanting ‘TfL’ as we passed by. I think it’s easy to forget that we are part of an iconic network not only for Londoners, but also for the millions of visitors that come to the capital every year. The response from the crowd served as a reminder that we should be proud of the work we do in getting people around our vibrant city. – Robyn Ashley, communications manager.
It was an honour to take part in my first pride with TfL. It was a great way to be introduced to the wonders of Pride. - Toni-Anne Davis, communications coordinator
Pride celebrations continued at Norwood Junction, Gospel Oak and Imperial Wharf. Colleagues handed out Love sweets to our delighted customers to complete a beautiful summer’s day.
Thank you, Khalid Shaikh, Matt Hayes and Dawn Kolokotroni, for sharing.
